Today Fajr in Jakarta begins around 04:10. The Fajr time differs by city — see the table below or check your own location.
"What time is fajr" (or when the fajr adhan is called) depends on your location and the date. This page answers for today — Fajr is also known as Fajr (dawn).
Fajr begins at true dawn (fajr ṣādiq), when light spreads horizontally along the eastern horizon, and ends at sunrise.
The times above are computed with the Kemenag method and can differ by a minute from your local mosque. Where they differ, follow your nearby mosque.
Frequently Asked
What time is the Fajr adhan?
The Fajr adhan is called when the Fajr time enters — the same time shown in the table above for your city. It shifts slightly each day with the sun.
Why does the Fajr time differ by city?
Because the sun rises and crosses the meridian at different moments in each place. Eastern cities enter Fajr before western ones, and latitude shifts it too.
Which method is used?
Times are computed with the Kemenag method (Fajr 20°, Isha 18°, 2-min ihtiyati) — the same as Indonesia's official schedule. This is a computation, not an official body's table; always follow your local mosque.
